Turbo-Downpipe Gasket

I picked up a gasket from Advance Auto last time I had the downpipe off of the turbo. That was only about 6 months ago and I took it off last night and the gasket/donut is all flakey and brittle. Is there a better option? Maybe a copper one? Where could I find one?
