I'm in the process of aquiring parts for my 84HA engine build. The stock turbo is now RIP. Bearings and impellers look like Godzilla used them for a teething ring. So, I guess I'm in the market for a replacement. I have a good turbo off a low mileage 87GN is that a feasible replacement, or am I better off selling it and putting that $$ toward a replacement hot air turbo? The 87 turbo is slightly larger i noticed, and looks like it would work if I clocked it and got an adapter for the outlet-to-intake. Any ideas??

If you are thinking of using the stock 87 turbo on a hot air it can be done. A custom adapter needs to be built and the turbo reclocked. A rebuild on your stock turbo will be around $500. The TA33c will run a little over $900 which will flow around 300 cfm more than a stock hot air turbo. Good luck. Brad
