Howdy,
Ok, before the I told you so's start flying, I'm chaning goals with my plan so I'm back to single turbo 4.1.... for now!
Anyway, what are the specific benifits of both dual ball bearings and the new GT wheels? Which one costs more and which has a greater impact on the efficiency of the turbo?
I'm now planning a dead nuts reliable, fully streetable, pump gas only, 450 hp 4.1. It will have ported heads and intake, a SD FMIC, TH200-4R, 3.42's, 72lb injectors, Accufab 70mm TB and dog house, and 8.3:1 compression all in a 4000lb 65 Riviera. I'd also like to be able to put alky on it and make up to 550 or so for the strip if possible. What turbo do ya'll recomend and what stall to go with it? I like the idea of raising efficency rather than adding a bigger turbo so how much would I be looking at for a properly sized turbo for these goals with both GT wheels, ball bearings, and a water cooled center section? Cheap alternatives are also welcome.
Thanks,
