hello all i am looking on becoming a turbo regal owner this year, as i only have $3,000 right now i will have to wait i figure aroud $7,000 would get a decent one, as i wont mind high miles or faded paint, just no smoking or leaks.
what i would like to know is if there are any places around austin that are real good with these cars, thanks for any help, this will be my first non mustang, so hopefully i am moving up.

Regal Performance is pretty good and they are in Cedar Park. I'm in San Antonio and also have some experience with these Buicks. Let me tell you a little something about these Buicks. Yes they are fun to drive and are very attracting but they could also give you a share of headaches when something goes wrong. I also used to race Mustangs for 5 years before I got to race Buicks. Mustangs are fast but it is just not too cool when everyone has one just like it. It is a lot cheaper to maintain a fast Mustang than a fast Buick. I'm not trying to discourage you in anyway, but I want you to be prepare on the expense of a turbo Regal. Now on the positive side these Buick's do get a lot of respect on the streets and they do stand for "Going Fast with Class." Good Luck with your search!

Tim Blessin at Regal performance. These messages boards and gnttype.org are great resources. I too had experience with mustangs and also camaros. Having the GN for a little over 2 years now has made me competent in diagnosing and fixing problems on GN's. I am fortunate that the GN is not a daily driver as it has had to sit in progress at times. There are always local guys to help out as well.

Carl good to see you here. I tried to send you an email about the Austin Area buick Group. but your email was returned. Good to see you on this board, Also consider going to the Brand X Bash at temple academy Dragway on March 5th. Looks to be around 60 cars going now.

thank you guys for all the responces, the buick will be my second car since i still have my 97 purple gt, i should have listened to a guy i worked with at southpoint l/m back in the late 90s by the name of mike hogan who has a grey 87 t, as far as the bash i will be there, i already requested the day, since i work at capital metro here in austin i have weird days and hours, hope to see you all there.

Mike Hogan has a sweet car. He has been to the last 2 events in Temple running 10's. I believe he also works at Regal Performance. They work afterhours in Cedar Park.

Sweet, i will have to get in touch with them when i purchase one, thanks, one question, did the alky injection help alot, and was it difficult to install.

mike and time are usually out at regal performance in the evenings. both real nice guys.

The alky kit was very easy to install. I have installed both the SMC kit and now Razor's. It is the best mod I have done. I am running 29 lbs of boost on 93 octane with no knock. You have to run a low timing chip on alky. My 11.92 was with about a 3 lb launch. Brakes are fixed and I am hoping for low to mid 11's in Temple on pump gas.

Hey Tin Man what does your car look like, so i can look for it, as for Mike when i worked with him i had a 92 lx hatch with an auto not fast in the 1/4 but on a long road to the valley it hit 140 mph, of course i had to have the tranny rebuilt 2 weeks later, Mikes favorite comment for me was to come up to me smile and say (you wanna race)

I will be in the black GN..lol Black GN with weld prostars on rear/ stock wheels up front. I will be trailering it with a grey Suburban, so I will be parked next to that. I need to do something to make it stand out. My father-in-law comes to the events and cannot tell which car is mine to video.

Zac

Ok Tin Man i will look and see if i see you and drop by to say hi and probobly drool, until i can get one, see you there.
