I have the puff of smoke upon startup EVERY time I start my t-type. At first I didn't think much of it.
The motor has been re-done, and it appears to only smoke under high-vacuum conditions. The heads are new, valves are new, seals are new, guides are perfect.
All of the usual checks have been done, including PCV. I was starting to think I might have a lazy oil-control ring somewhere. But it smokes upon startup, first thing in the morning as well...there would be little oil around the rings to make that kind of smoke. Sometimes it continues to smoke a bit even when the car is shut off! The turbo has been upgraded to a TE44, seeing as the old one was putting a bit of oil into the intercooler/intake.
What I'm wondering is, where is this smoke coming from?
If, for some odd reason, the turbo is leaking on the exhaust side...how do I check such a thing?
