My cover / shroud has seen better days as it has lost its OEM finish. I am curious as to what others do to re-finish. Polish, paint? The chrome replacement ones seem to be a bit expensive.

I ran a couple through the bead blaster at my job and put that BBQ silver on. I thought it turned out pretty decent. Also good for squirting on the exhaust manifold when you pull it off to have it welded up. Yeah, it has a crack in it unless someone just had it off.

I just found a can of rust oleum 500 degree black engine paint. My try that for a different look while I wait for a nice OEM fit chrome one to come along cheap here or on ebay. See them going for $179 plus shipping at the moment.

I powder coated mine for $40. Looks great but I wish it had less orange peel.

I don't think they get all that hot, I've had a vinyl sticker on mine for 10+ years and it's still good...

I used duplicolor engine enamel, GM low gloss black. Seems to be holding up fine and have had a couple people ask me where I got it powder coated. Hah.
