Turbo Timers?

I notice not a lot of people use Turbo timers on this board. Is it just an import thing or what? I have a GReddy turbo timer out of a wrecked RX-7. The timer is in perfect condition I was wondering if this would work in a TTA or if it is just worth less. The Idea behind a turbo timer is a good onem, let the turbo cool down. Well I am new to this and any help would be good.

In my opinion, I'd rather sit in my car the extra minute or so and shut it down myself rather than walk away and leave the shut-off duties to an electronic device that may fail and leave your car idling. Call me weird though.
