1989 Pontiac 20th Anniversary Turbo Trans Am

$25,999
29,800 miles

VIN# 1G5FW2171KL248329

When these cars came out I wanted one very badly but there was just no way I could afford the 30 thousand dollar price tag on my 1989 salary. Then marriage and kids came and further delayed me. One day I realized that my Volvo 850 Turbo with 2 car seats in it was not very cool and I needed another car to satisfy my need for speed and love of classic cars.

I first bought a 1990 IROC Camaro convertible off of E-bay to keep me occupied for a while. That car was low production and had 18 k miles on it when I bought it in 2004. I purchased from the original owner and it was in like-new condition. I showed it and scored a magazine feature in Camaro Performers magazine then I was done. The car looked great but the 5 liter automatic was just too slow. I sold it, made money and traded up to the ultimate F-Body, this 1989 Turbo Trans Am, #1451 of 1550 produced.

When I got home with the TTA, I inspected it super close and realized that it was in superb original condition. The undercarriage was spotless and had very little rust. I showed it a lot at first and set out on the task of making it perfect. I took it to the drag strip a few times and it consistently runs low 13’s with 104 unleaded in it. Car also dynoed 296 RWHP with the race gas in it too. I was impressed but wanted to go faster. Commonsense kicked in and I decided not to alter the TTA so I bought a Turbo T to feed the hunger for 12’s.

My quest to make this car perfect has led to near trailer queen status. I have polished and powder-coated many things on the car to keep them looking new. I have also had to update and improve a few things too. I knew a reunion show would occur and I wanted to win it whenever that would be. I did win Best of Show-Stock at the 2011 Turbo TA Reunion as I had planned to. After that, I showed the in the Jack Roush Employee Car show held at the Woodward Avenue Dream Cruise in August that same year and drove it back to Ft. Worth from Detroit. I have achieved my goal with this car and now have turned all of my interest to my highly modified Turbo Regal and the TTA needs a new home.

I have seen a lot of these cars over the years and many with lower miles than mine but none as nice. Car is very solid and better than new. I want $25,999 for the car.

Some things I have done to keep car in great shape:

-repaint on nose to cover license plate holes and rock chips

-Goodyear Eagle GSC tires, OEM replacement, no longer produced

-AC Delco battery

-new hood struts, new rear hatch struts

-new fiberglass rear spoiler

-replaced all speakers

-new drivers side motor mount (steel and rubber isolator to prevent motor from lifting, original retained)

-K & N air filter

-no catalytic converter – powder coated test pipe- passes emissions testing without any trickery

-new Walbro 255 fuel pump

-new seat belt buttons

-valve covers soda blasted, clear coated, NDA TUR sticker replaced

-Alternator housing powder coated clear

-power antennae repaired with steel cable, manual switch added

-new brake reservoir with reproduction sticker

-Hawk ceramic low dusting brake pads, all the way around
-NOS Lexan T-Tops in PERFECT condition

Original parts I do not have are the catalytic converter, the floor mats, owner’s kit and the vapor recovery system. Car comes with PHS docs, framed show poster and a notebook of information and history.
