I own a 1987 Buick GN. Its all original with 58,000 miles. The only mods done to the car are:

New fuel pump with fuel pump feeder kit.
Bosch 0280160237 fuel pressure regulator.
TPS Tec throttle enhancer calibrator.
Fieldfix alternator plug-in for uninterrupted charging.
Bigger oil pump.
Exhaust has the convertor removed test pipe installed and two stainless glass pack mufflers installed.
K@N filter in stock air box.
Scanmaster.

I was thinking of buying the 42lb injectors with chip. But Eric at Turbo tweak said my stock injectors would be fine as I don't need any more fuel.

I'm not looking to go to crazy with things. When the turbo needs replacement might go a little bigger. Was wondering if any of you guys out there have just a chip and is it even worth getting ? Will it give the car an y better performance ?
Also would I have to get an adjustable waste gate, cold air intake or any other upgrade. What do you think?

Look at it like this......Eric has a very successful business. He sells chips and injectors and other supporting parts.
The reason he is so successful is his initial product the "TT chip" and his customer support is second to none.
If he just wanted to sell, sell sell, he would have told you buy this and that and this. But that's not Eric and its not what you need at this time. if you are running a stock chip , yes by all means get a TT chip your drive ability will improve greatly.

Ronnie.

I believe Eric all the way as he's the professional. I was just wondering who else out there put a chip in their stock GN and what they thought of the difference. Thanks for you reply. Im ordering a chip tomorrow.

I know Eric's chips have always helped driveability and idle quality in every car I have put them in. I have had buddies with 100% stock cars that got great results as well with smoothness, idle, more seat of the pants power, etc. I know you will be pleased!

I'd get a chip and a set of 60's. Then you're done and don't have to worry about a flaky 26 year old injector leaning out and tossing a head gasket.
i agree with earl, 60's & matching chip for this stock gn = peace of mind!!

Might need a adjustable fuel pressure regulator to get the correct fuel pressure setting at idle with aftermarket chip best money you can spend on these cars in my opinion

You can not go wrong with TT products and his advice , I am with hiboom you need a fpr to dial that fp in for a TT chip to get it right .

What earl said, you stated that you might want to upgrade. If you get the 60's that will give you plenty of growing room from where you are at now.

It made a world of difference in my car. Eric's chip and injectors really woke up my car. Smoothed out my idle .Eric is a good guy. Down to earth and he works with you.

Sorry for question on your thread but being that I'm new to my GN how does this chip compare to an Armstrong? I have no idea of chips for these cars but I've read lots of good things about turbo tweak.

Red Armstrong chips while ok in it's day cannot compare to a TT or Baily chip today.

I guess I'm in the same situation as the OP.. I might have to try a turbo tweak myself. I just installed a walbro pump and Hotwire from gbodyparts.. Armstrong chips still around?

Buy a chip and injector combo that suits your intended goals and you should be set for a while without needing to spend money to upgrade.

Would 60lbs injectors and a chip work ok if it was stock? All it has is an intake for what it looks like. And again sorry to the op! Just trying to gather some info

Yes, 60's with a matching chip will work very well on an otherwise stock setup and would still be good into the 10's with the right supporting mods. But if you are planning on running E85 then 80's might be a better choice depending on how fast you want to go. Again, it all depends on what your goals are. Establishing a goal first will help you save money by selecting parts that you don't outgrow too soon.

10.7's might be close to the fringe for 60's. Might be safer to go with 80's if thats the case. Same price anyway...
