Turbo - who to go to ?

Well, looks like I should have replaced the stock turbo when I was doing the rest of the car - on its 4th drive out - it seized up.

I removed it and it spun again - but I can hear the bearings inside slightly when it spins by hand and there is oil inside the housing and down in the intake.

Time to upgrade. Who's the best / most reasonable to buy from ?

There was a thread not so long ago praising someone for their after sales service and help. Who was that ?
John Craig ?

Want a TA-33. It bolts right on ? Cause thats what i'm looking for...

What u guys think ?

I had a john craig ta 33 and it worked great i gave it all i had and not one problem with it , i wish i still had it.

definatly go with a John Craig unit ... you can get them thru Red Armstrong

I spoke to John Craig on the phone today.

He wants my orig. unit then he will modify. He only requires a 5 day piriod to work on it then he sends it back.

$825.00 is the price. Shipped.

He told me it is a direct bolt on unit. Do I need new injectors ? I have the stock ones - but they have been cleaned and flow tested.
What gains should I expect ?

injectors are same as the i/c cars they will do you fine down deep into the 12's

Didn't want to change the injectors anyway...ugh.

I sent my turbo off to John Craig today - 95.00 to ship the damn thing 2 day
Fed-Ex - ouch.

I gotta call Jay tomorrow to find out the ETA of my V2...was thinking of doing the whole thing now since I have the turbo off....we'll see.....maybe not.
It's like 35 - 40 deg C here with high humidity so workin' in the garage is not where you wanna be right now....

So - what gains guys ???? What should I expect ????

I will say that if you do the turbo and the v2 at the same time you should have no problem going in the low 12's . Your set up is about the same as my old one and i think i could have want low 12's with a good tune and no cracks in the headers with other problems.

With same bigger injectors i see a high 11 to low 12' sec run with som other mods like slicks and stuff.

Your stock turbo flows about 360-390 cfm from what i hear.

the ta33 will do 600-700 cfm
