Would building a TH200-4R for a stout Turbo6 beable to survive behind a stock 401 Nailhead?

Thanks,

No reason why not - I am running a 200 4R behind a 700hp (564 rwhp, 562 rwtq) 496 big block.

We have many guys running some big HP BBC's and loving it. We also have a customer roaming the streets with a very heavy 55 Buick Super with a 401 .040 over cammed nailhead running the 400 convertion on it as well. You can check some of the cars at http://www.ptsxtreme.com/. look under customer rides. All will tell you that it was the best move they made when deciding how to set up their cars.

Why not go with a S/P 400 with a gear vendors OD unit? You'll need an adapter for the bellhousing to run the 200, and the 400 is a little cheaper to build. The OD unit is a bit pricey though.

I'm thinking a multistage philosophy here. I know that if I pickup something Nailhead powered I won't beable to get the turbo6 in and sorted out by the time for powertour '06 however I still would want to take the car. Since I'd need to convert from a dynaflow to a TH200-4R or SP400 anyway I might as well put the TH200-4R behind the Nailhead and take that on the tour then when its time for the Turbo6 infusion I'll already have a relative mounting location based off the tranny. Just want to make sure that I won't crap out the tranny with the nailhead.

Think an stock TH200-4R will stand 250 old school hp (you know the way they rated it in the 60's)? Something to consider is this is in a tank, 4400lbs to be approximate.
Will any TH200-4R work or should I look for a TR unit? Also for you transmission builders, do you only take TR cores in trade of if I wanted a BRF do I have to give you one or pay the price?

Thanks,
