Turbolink 4.0

Hi all, I'm new to this board but have been on other TB boards for years...

I'm trying to figure out why my Turbolink won't work, at first I couldn't even connect to the car. I got that figured out today, it show all green lights on cable detected and communicating with ECM. However when I hit connect it briefly displays "building 87 Grand National" then i get an error message from Turbolink saying that the screen (dashboard) did not load properly.

wondering if anyone has dealt with this before?

ps: I know Turbolink is not the greatest tool out there but for me it is good enough, just want it to work.

By the way... I have a new lap top with Windows 7 but I had no trouble loading the program and the USB adapter is working fine. I even tried running with an older version of Windows but no difference.

I'm about to enter the self tuning world on my GN and have pretty much discovered that 90% of the scan tools being used are the Scanmasters. How does the turbolink work (compared to the Scanmaster) and is it still available?

gotta link for software, connection, and instructions? I'm just looking for an initial setup for street cruising as I will keep it that way.

Everyone seems to swear by the scan master, myself I don't really like it as it only seems to give one piece of data at once.

Turbolink is one of the first scan tool programs out there, I bought my version used and i think it's from 2003. It's perfectly good enough for me... especially since I finally got it to work.

I think it all depends on what your are doing as for what system you would need. Turbolink is now outdated and only available used as they are no longer made.

A friend of mine has Direct Scan and it it real time data, no lag, but it is a little harder to use as it connect directly to the ECM so as long as your not moving it from vehicle to vehicle it's great. There are many other options out there, you will have to find what works for you.
