I'm tired of my old laptop, mostly due to the lack of working batteries, but also the screen. I am in a financial position to get a new wizbang laptop, but as I recall reading elsewhere a few months ago somewhere, there would be muy problemo running TL & DS on W2K/XP machines, which defeats the main purpose of this laptop.

True or false??

Man, I'm lost with that stuff... I need a "plug-n-play" laptop or I'm FUBAR!

hrrmmm

get the new laptop and then in a month or two you can use Turbo Link 3.0 on it with win2k/XP

What of Direct Scan?? All of my fine tuning and troubleshooting on my car is done with DS, and then on the track it is usually TL, if I have the boost sensing harness on... otherwise it is DS.

I also use TL quite a bit on other folks' cars so that I don't have to do ECM/DS hardware swaps.

Kent Chu (or someone smater than me 'bout this... not hard ;)), where are you!

well you wouldnt be able to run direct scan. however i know ken was talking about fast datastreams for 3.0 later down the road so that you'd get more frames per second and be able to fine tune it.

Just got an e-mail from Kent who says I can use a laptop that has W2K / XP installed, booting from a DOS bootable floppy disk in order to get the laptop into standard MS-DOS mode. I replied directing him to your other thread, informing him of my nearly complete lack of knowledge of what to do or look for if it doesn't work.
