Hey guys,

Been trying to get my TL v2.13 to work with no luck. My laptop (1990's vintage) says it cannot connect to the ECM. I've tried another cable from a board member, checked the wiring on the ALDL....tried new batteries and nothing will help this sucker. :o

Thanks

Travis, did you try the paper clip trick to jumper the ALDL? If you jumper the top 2 terminals on the right, turn the key to "RUN" but not start it, it should set off the CEL diagnostic mode. At the least, you should get an "all clear" code (whichever that is, 12 maybe, I can't remember). At least then you can verify that ALDL is getting data transmission from the ECM.
Can you use the computer to print anything through the parallel port? If you hook a printer to it, and that doesn't work, then your parallel port on the PC is probably fubared.
Might have to find a way to get you my scanmaster. Wish I was closer, man. :(

I tried the paperwork, and I get code 12...so I know the ALDL port is working...can't figure out how to get into the BIOS on this thing (it's from 1993), but it was working a few months ago then all of a sudden it stopped.

Guess my laptop is junk, really can't afford one for right now so I guess Im screwed for now. I have a copy of TL4 that would work on my newer lappy, but I cannot find a cable to work with it for the life of me.

Ok, I got into the BIOS on the toshiba and the serial port was set to output only...I changed it to bi-directional but for some reason it'll only let me select com1/1rq3 or com2/irq4.

Under preferences in Turbolink it only allows me to use IRQ5 or IRQ7...what gives?
