Does anyone know where I can get a turn buckle style engine hold down strap? All I see is the "ratchet" nylon strap styles.

What is the advantage of using this vs the nylon strap?
Or better yet why not just get a poly motor mount on that side.

6 beats 8, the turnbuckle style will allow NO movement of the engine. This means the full torque will be placed on the aluminum accessory bracket which secures the power steering pump, A/C compressor, and alternator to the driver's side head. I.e., it will surely break the bracket under the load. The H&R mount is the best solution, a OEM (cheap at the Zone) mount is next, and a nylon strap is next. Definitely nix the turnbuckle!

if your motor mounts are good, the turnbuckle works fine....if your mounts are bad and the engine moves significantly, you could break the bracket (although usually the turnbuckle gives up first....)

I have used a turnbuckle for many moons and many 20 psi trans brake launches (but the motor mounts are new....)
