OK new here starting a project going to power a ford with a 3.8 National motor in a 94 Mustang going to need some help if you guys can going to need it . Waiting on motor and transmission.

So you're gonna do a 94 Mustang hybrid powered by a turbo buick v6 engine project. You doing anything other than powertrain and drivetrain swapping, such as body work?
Welcome to the site & wish you Good Luck on the swap.

Just going to get it in first then take baby steps and upgrade a bit at a time.

I have a friend that does custom welding for the mount's and exhaust. Also I manage a shop in Stamford CT called Imported cars of stamford so will be getting a little help from my friends.

Also pick up a stock intercooler first then once inside and running. Will work on tuning.

Was it a v6 or a v8 powered 94?
What trans are you putting behind the buick motor?
What plans do you have on the rear end?

It was a V6 and right now not sure what tranny is coming with the motor bought it together form another person that pulled it out of an 83 national.

So you bought an engine that came out of an 83 t-type hotair carb'd turbo v6 car, you also had bought an intercooler kit?
Before 84, which is the before black era you couldn't find a grand national in 83 as all they made were t-types in 83. They didnt release the 1st hot air fuel injected turbocharged 3.8 v6 grand nationals until the 84 model year.
In 81 and 82 they came out with the new body style to replace the previous body style that was used from mid 70's until the 81 model year was released. In 82 they had made a limited production number of less than 300 of the 2 toned silver carb'd 4.1Liter turbo v6 regals that was the start of the grand national cars, so they could use the car in the racing series it shared the name of.

What goals were you trying to obtain with the swap project?

Then it had to be at least an 84 model year GN, that's the first year the fuel injected 3.8's came out.

Do yourself a favor and put a upr tubular k member in it. Stock 86-87 down pipe will not fit in any configuration.

Not a T-Type came out of Grand National fuel injection .

Post a picture of what you bought. It sounds like you might have been mislead with what you bought.

Also, honestly, I wouldn't go through the effort if it's not an 86/87 intercooled engine.

theres a guy on here that did a stang w buick powered. car was a dark grey or maybe primer/black.it was late 80s early 90s stang.. worth a search on here

I have a real lc2 block an heads I can sell him off a real 87 GN .... btw the stock intercoolers didn't work so well

Thank you so much for your input will check on that year is it still workable?

It'd be a bit more doable with an 86 or 87 intercooled turbo buick engine.
What speed goals are you trying to get this hybrid project to run?

If it is a hot air fuel injected engine, you'd be spending a bit of money to get the necessary parts to convert it over to the intercooled engine setup.
Which is why you'd be better served to start off with an intercooled turbo buick engine than converting a hot air over to intercooling. It wouldn't be worth the time and money to proceed with a hot air hybrid. The hot air engines were more prone to knock and are more difficult to work with than their intercooled counterparts were.
