Hi Guys,
I finally took my car out for a test run after installing the CK recalibration kit and servo for my 200-4R. This thing shifts soooo nice and feels real good on the shifts. No more Trans-Go downshift bang! I didn't want to get into it too hard, fresh engine- keeping an eye on gages and stuff. (found an oil leak but no trans leaks)

I started out in 4th. pulled out on the road and started to feel the shifts. They felt good for what I was excellerating at, but I was in 4th before I knew it. I knew it hit 4th because I felt the engine bogging. So I drove it around in 3rd, got a little more agressive. BIG SMILE shifts nice. Thanks CK Performance:biggrin:

The smell of oil on the headers make me park it for inspection.

Question:

Which way from this position must the TV cable go? (hoping this is TV cable adjustment). I can never get any cable clicks, it's all by feel.

With the carb at wide open throttle, do I pull more cable out or give it more slack for later shifts ?

Thanks for any help and thanks Chris @ CK Performance

its best

to leave it at full detent when you go thighter it takes away from wot . push tab in and slide it all the way in toward the firewall then let off tab. push gas pedal all the way to the floor and you will hear & feel it adjust itself .. click click click done ..

Thanks OIL MAN

No matter how many times I tried doing it that way with the clicks, I could not get my cable to click.
It's a new cable and all but had used it last summer. I also got no clicks out of it so I had to set it manually then felt good.
At least I know now that my cable has to be tighter, I'll just go a bit at a time.

Is there any particular position of the cable that is BAD for our tranny's?

Lonnie Diers has a great article on Extreme Automatics about the abjustment of the TV cable. Check it out!

If you can't get any clicks you may want to try the Pressure method.

BTO has a good 3-Part TV 101 Article, Bowtie Overdrives | TV Made EZ also Pressure Info. Bowtie Overdrives | TV Made EZ recommends Min. of 2 lbs more Pr. when TV cable is connected to Throttle.
You will need a 0-300psi Gauge.
Example>> ATD Tools 5550 Automatic Transmission and Engine Oil Pressure Gauge Kit | SJDiscounttools.com
Amazon also has these w/free S/H on many.
