Hi all. I'm a long time lurker. I registered today so I could search and post. After much searching and no luck, I have to ask. Has anyone here run twin GT2860rs's? Let me state that I am well aware that a properly sized single will make just as much power, cheaper, easier to plumb, etc., etc. Sooooo, anyone?

Its funny..I just sold two of them on ebay that I had for my Starion. My feeling is that they are too small to be worth while when setting up a twin setup. Plus they are over 1k each. They work best on motors under 2.6L

Huh? This turbo was designed for a 1.8 liter motor. Each turbo supports 250-360 hp for a total of 500-780 hp. I am curious as to why you may feel that they are too small. Please explain.

Because if I was going to go through the enormous cost and headache of plumbing twin turbos I would use two large turbos. Why go half way? You are saying two GT28's make 500-780...but I can make that on one turbo that will plug right into a regular setup. Plus GT28RS is $1200x2=$2400. You could have a bad azz dbb turbo and alky for less than that.

Thanks for the reply. I'm using the GT2860's because that is what I have. They came in a package deal with a lot of other parts. I was just curious if anyone else had used them. Also, if I can end up with around 780 hp, well I guess I'm willing to settle for half way.

i just posted to say I like your sig, looks like a nice build

as far as this thread goes, I have seen twin 60's almost run 8's on a stock block with aluminum heads, and built everything but still. I got my t66dbb for $1000

I would say stick to single until your at a really high HP level, over 1000 would be my guess. But only because I am assuming that after 1000hp spooling is probably an issue ;)

This is going to be a street car that may never see the drag strip. It won't be a low budget build but I will try to use parts that I already have wherever possible. I enjoy fabrication and welding so plumbing is actually fun for me.
