Send a letter from your company to your U.S. senators opposing Section 803 of S. 1766. The letter need not be long. Simply express how S. 1766 will affect you, your company and the automotive hobby, preferably on company letterhead. For more tips on writing your legislators, consult the SEMA document "How to Lobby Elected Officials." This guide is available at www.enjoythedrive.com/san. To find out who your U.S. Senators are, call the SEMA Washington, D.C., office at 202/783-6007 or visit www.enjoythedrive.com/legislative/contact_legislator.asp. Employees of aftermarket companies are encouraged to send personal letters to their U.S. Senators opposing Section 803 of S. 1766. Again, the letter can-and should-be brief (see notes in item above). Contact the SEMA Washington, D.C., office for help or more information. Share the alert on S. 1766 with as many people as possible, including your customers. Tell them the potential harm Section 803 of S. 1766 could have on the vehicle hobby and urge them to get involved by writing letters as well.

Is it STILL an ongoing issue? I thought that this was shot down a while ago....?

Yah...I think it became a dead dog. So much guys wrote their Senator...Myself included, that this isnt fair the todays car hobbyist. I got a reply from my Dist Rep. Willy Espero saying that the Bill would be by choice. If you wanted to scrap your car for some sort of State Credit or State Funds (Like they really have any money)...it would be by your own free will. All the State would show is an incentive to scrap your car.
