I'm taking the car in to get the front end aligned. Not sure if they have to drive the car or not. Will I be ok if I just unhook the wastegate rod and safetywire the wastegate open?

Tough call. As long as they don't go out there and try to do any WOT blasts around the corner. If they do, it would surely go really rich and could possibly wash down the cylinders. Anytime I've had alignment work done, they don't test drive the vehicle, the machines today are very good compaired to many years ago technology. I'd tell them specifically, do not test drive the car and that you have the mileage recorded. This would be just to cover yourself. If they insist on having to take it for a spin, I'd shop elsewhere.

I'd camp in it if I could. The only time I ever take my buicks to the shop is for front end alignment and safety inspections. I'll give them a call and make sure they don't need to drive it. I'll just have to be very tactful with how I ask I guess (kinda like when ordering food at the restaurant, eh?) I have a 04 lesabre that is mint with 75,000 miles, I have the tire warranty that includes patching holes. I decided I'd take a chance and just drop the car off (what could they possibly mess up, right?) I went to pick it up, and when I got in it, the idiots had slammed the door so freaking hard that trimcard on the inside had fell off. I was so pissed I had to just sit there and breathe for about 5 minutes or I'da went in there chewing everybodys butt.
