Found this plug with a resistor plugged in, wondering why theres a resistor and whats it for?

It's just the Flux Capacitor. No biggee. It's what keeps the TR timeless.

It is a diode for the theft deterrent system. There is also a couple of in-line fuses that you may find.

So is it factory or did someone add the diode?

No that is definitely not factory security equipment. It is no telling what the previous owner reason for that resistor plug. Most resistor are tie in the hot wire that run to the battery on security systems.
 
It's a diode as mentioned for the factory deterrent system.

Goes to the Pin switch on the drivers door circuit to the arm and tamper input on the controller. That's how it knows to arm the system when you close the door after the door locks are activated.
