Going to be running the stock turbo for a while but i want to launch easier and have quicker spool if possible will be upgrading the turbo later have my tranny out now getting some work done to it whats a good converter upgrade that will give me insane spool and low end but not slip much at top end trying to keep the cost down i have heard bad things about the orange stipes so i dont want that.Would 3200 stall be too much,3000 stall?

I would keep the D5 with a stock turbo. The stocker makes a lot of power at 2800 RPM that you will lose in the converter with something loser.

You may not have "insane spool" but you will be quicker and faster in the 1/4 if you leave the D5 in there vs. most of the torque converters out there especially ANY of the non lockups.

3000 orange stripe isnt a bad convertor, i know alot of guys using them and they work just as well as the stock D5 convertor.

I have a 9/11 bruce toelle convertor in my daily, it has the stock turbo and my convertor will flash to 3500 if i can get it to stick to the ground.
I have zero boost lag off idle launch with the boost commander and my car goes down the highway at 1900 RPMs because of the lockup convertor.

Dont sacrifice a few hundred dollars on a convertor and loose the lockup feature on the trans, its alot easier to swap in a lockup style convertor.

If your looking for a non lockup style convertor, i would suggest JW convertor in florida.. I have that in my green car

I agree with BW that the orange stripe is a good as it gets D5 style converter. I have a buddy that put hundreds of HARD (1.5's) launches on one and its held up just fine. He uses this converter with a stock turbo and has instant boost...he hard to beat off the line when it's a boosting game. you might also look into a T brake for real fast boost building, especially with a small turbo like the stocker. I recently sold my PI 9" and went to a orange stripe as well. Although I have not been to a track with it yet, the boost comes up real fast using a TE44 w/ a .82 housing. Whatever you do stay conservative with the advertised stall, too loose and you loose all that top end charge and create a lot of heat for nothing.
