Months ago I changed my oil; I thought I had a filter somewhere in the blackhole that it my garage...I didn't. But I found a Fram 3600 for my mom's Ford Aerostar! I used it! ...it seemed to work fine. If it fits, is there any reason not to use a random, bigger filter?

The specific filters for our cars has an ANTI DRAINBACK feature in them, because the filter sits sideways and the oil will drain out. I'd get one that is made for your car!!!

Right...but then again, some cheap filters that are made for our cars don't have the anti-drainback valve.

Does someone know the largest size filter that will fit on there? (with anti-drainback of course.)
I'm sure this has been discussed before...I'll use that thar nifty search feature! :)

HEY TOMMY, I USED A PUROLATOR 30001. IT'S A BIG OIL FILTER. IT CROSSTHREADS ON WITH NO DAMAGE TO THREADS ON OIL PUMP HOUSING. DOES A GREAT JOB! CHANGED OIL & FILTER EVERY 2000 MILES FOR 25,000 MILES WITH ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEMS. SO DON'T PAY ANY ATTENTION TO THE SCAREDY KATS. I'M NOW USING A PTE TURBO SAVER........NO CHANCE OF OIL DRAINING BACK AND ALWAYS FILTERED OIL TO THE TURBO. ;)

I'm headed out to find one of those...right...about...now!

It had better be gianormous! :D
