I was looking around on autotrader.com yesterday and saw a pretty decent 87 GN for $7500.00.

If you are looking for a true 87 GN you might want to check it out. It probably won't be there long.

I would have guessed it to be worth more than the asking price. This is just based on the pictures though.

I saw that one and texted the owner - Sold. I asked why so cheap and he replied, "it was modified"...Looked good to me for that price.

That V8 is not worth anything more than a Grand Prix, Cutlass or Monte with a crate 350 of similar repair. I wouldn't go any more than 6K for it.

I agree, especially because he cannot identify what engine is in the car. No paperwork or specs, but he says it has "less than 3,000 miles"...yeah right. Put a new crate engine in 3k miles ago, but have no idea what it is?

...Just liked the idea of a V8 Grand National, but this is nothing really special.

Right, this is nothing really special. There can not be a V8 Grand National because it would not be a Grand National. What made the GN special was the drive train. The Black exterior and interior were just window dressing. IMO, you would come closer saying you had a GN if you put the LC2 drive train in a red regal than saying a car is a GN just because someone dressed it up. Price it accordingly, $3500.00 maybe a grand more if it is a strong running car and no hidden rust.
