I've done a few of these and it's pretty straightforward. I usually just remove the turbo wiring harness and install a naturally aspirated wiring harness, but either will work. All of the wires on the starter have to be connected just like they were on the original engine. You'll have to wire your distributor and ignition box based on the manufacturer's recommendations. If you're just using an HEI, then it's a simple one wire connection.
