ok heres the situation my power master went out xmas day the a couple months went by and i decided to convert to vaccum brakes so i got a kit from red regal well i installed everything and put a tta vac block on. bleed the system several times. the brakes was very spongy and the car didn't seem to want to stop very quickly but i droveit around like that for a few i was just not the safest thing to do. anyways i figures i should try a new MC this is brand new and i installed it and brake pedal got harder i bleed the system and this has now got a hard pedal and dont stop quickly. check valve has been checked for leaks booster seems ok. what should i do. i dont know if someone can help me in bowling green or not if i cant figure it out by then i may trailer it there really not sure at this point.

thanks
tim smith

possible scenarios:

still some air trapped in the system
rear shoes need adjustment
metering (combination) valve (not uncommon problem)

umm

i did the right rear then left rear right front then left front i believe that the correct order. how tight do the drum need to be adjusted and where can i get a proportioning vavle from and how much.

I just recently picked up a prop. valve for John Larkin at my local Caddy dealer. If I remember correctly, it was about 45$ and was all brass.......maybe John will chime in with the part number......
