Valve cover gaskets

Cork or rubber? Anyone find one to work better than the other? or the same? I installed new rubber ones on my old Gn that I just sold and it was a pain the A** making sure they didnt move around on me. Thanks!

Ive always had great luck with these Fel Pro Part #VS50156R . Make sure the mating surfaces are clean with brake cleaner or equiv

I have used an with no leak are Victor Reinz Valve Cover Gasket #VS39763TC
I got them last year from CarQuest, but also from http://www.autozone.com/autozone/parts/_/N-8iics?itemIdentifier=142751_0_0_
The gasket is made of a thin metal sandwich between two cork material, (minor trimming)

Do you use any adhesive at all? Hitack to keep them in place or anything?

I tried some RTV gasket seal...It didnt work out too well.

I generally only use rtv on corners which these don't have.

I think i may give the cork ones a try

I always use cork...spray both sides with hi-temp alum paint...let it dry before installing...never had a leak
