I've had my WE4 for over 6 years. When I got it at 77,000 miles I replaced the valve springs with the GSCA club springs which I think were around 90 PSI springs. My question is, now that the car has 146,000 miles on the clock does anyone think that I should replace the springs again? Do the good springs wear out? I know I should probably replace the timing chain as well. It's the original.

With that many miles on them I can assure you that they aren't what they were when they went on there. :)
I would replace them. Timing chain is good insurance.

Ray,
I would certainly replace them. These little motors can put a beating on them. Plus they are cheap.I was told many years ago that a safe swap interval was 30k. Wether correct or not that seems correct to me.

Send me one of the "old" ones if you want and I can test it for ya. I will even send it back to you if you want it. :)

Would be interesting information to know.
