Valve Springs??????

Hey guys,
I’m putting new valve springs (from Poston) on my 84 GN (with the heads still on car) I got a spring compressor and the adapter to hook up to my air compressor. My question is how do I get the spring compressor tool over the springs? There is a sleeve around them. Also once I get the off do I need to re install the sleeves with the new springs?

You're just gonna have to make it work .

I remember having to use a small pair of vice grips to keep the compressor solidly on the spring.Don't deathgrip the thing or it won't work,just put em on tight enough so the compressor doesn't fly off and crack you in the grape .

Sh!tcan the cups,the new springs have their own damper...
