hello people; Any of you turbo heads use them? I've had them for a bit and now the bat. replacement light is on at the box in the basement and a warning beep won't stop. I know the bat. needs to be replaced but it's like $100.00 from what I understand. If I could just get ride of the warning sound I'd be happy. Just like refrigerators
water filters that they want like $40.00 for, another ripe off. Obviously if your water has a problem you need it but I don't and if the filter is not replaced it the water feature doesn't work. I did find out that the plug that came with it (if you didn't throw it out) if you relace it and get ride of the filter the feature still works.

Only way I know to stop the beep is replace the stupid battery. I've lived in my house about 5 years and had to replace it twice. I had a Verizon tech out once and he told me the batteries crap out quickly due to exposure to extreme hot and cold.

Hold in the alarm silence button for a few seconds. Should turn off alarm

Open the box n cut the wire to the piezo. Or some tape over the sound hole might quiet it a bit.

hello people; I tried the reset button a second time and I believe it worked as it didn't the first. And the bat. backup is for what reason?

Keeps your phones up when power goes out. If you dont have a home phone then dont worry about battery. Verizon will charge $80 to replace it.

Go to batteries plus or a battery store of some kind if you need the battery. The batteries plus charge 36.99 for the battery.

Why would I pay to fix their equipment? I rent it , then they can fix it on their dime. I pay for functioning stuff if they don't want to keep the thing operational, there are plenty of providers out there.

hello; Texas that's how I'm thinking of it. I rent it so I'm not going to fix or replace a bat. IMO the profider should.
The beeping is off and that's that and the dead bat. will be there forever for what I care about it.

hello you turboheads; That warning beep is back. When you press on the warning sound delete button it only lasts for like 8 hours and then it's back. It's part of my day now and no biggie. I'd just like to take the bat. out but the box but it doesn't look like the want to open would be without damage.
Spring will be here soon and I'll be playing with my 86T and installing my new fan setup. I have more to do but we'll see.

Oh yea, the beeping will drive you crazy. And as you mentioned the silence button only works for a period of time. Also need to hold it down until it emits a short beep.

I knew that the battery wouldn't last because of how hot it is. I have the box in the basement so no swings in temperature. It is the charger that is cooking the battery. Should have lasted at least 10 years....
