Okay, after 1 1/2 years I recovered my car that had been stolen. Had to put a new crank, cam, lifters and turbo on it. Finally got it where I can drive it. The trans had just been rebuilt before the car was stolen. The fluid was still clean. I took it down the street at cruising speeds to see how it operated and all the shift points where still firm. But when it went into lock up the whole car would feel like the u joints were about to come apart. Tap the brakes and problem goes away. Cruise along again and lock up comes on and same thing. But it does'nt do it all the time mostly when the trans is under a load during lock up. The car had a manual lock up switch wired under the dash wonder if the perps burned up my lock up clutch. But if the clutches were toast would I even have this problem ? Any help would be appreciated.
