Have a vibration from accessories. Remove belt & vibration goes away. New A/C compressor. Was vibrating before new compressor. Has anyone had a problem like this. Vibrates through the console. Turn A/C off & it stops. Drew
Not sure what else to add here...I had basically the same problem with mine(but mine is an 85 GN with v-belts and not the serpentine belt setup)...converted mine to -134a and had all kinds of vibration problems...Haven't used a/c since... Maybe TurboJim(Jim Testa) will see this and help out some more...He's a whiz with these a/c systems...
Does it vibrate throughout or only at idle. If only at idle, may need to up the rpm,as it maybe too much load at a low idle. If throughout, something is out af balance. HTH
Thanks Jim. I am new to the Buicks although an old hotrodder. I just went outside with a stick and listened to all accessories. Maybe the idler when the A/C load hits it. Drew
Did you get "ALL" of the bolts holding the A/C compressor back in? Or were you missing some from before? They've all got to be there or you'll get the vibration problem.
I have always felt that my AC system is very rough as well. When mine is on, I can feel it through the steering column and the gas pedal. I just wrote it off as being an old car with an old system and there's just no way it's gonna feel like my wifes 2000 GS Regal.
Thanks Turbo Dave. Read your post & went out to find the nut next to the idler loose. After tightening the vibration is better. After reading other posts & thinking back, this vibration has always been there & I had adapted to it I guess.
Thanks to everybody who responded to my problem. Really nice to find people who are willing to spend time to help somebody else. Thanks. Drew
