Vin Check on '87 Limited

Need a check on a Turbo Limited - Vin # 1G4GM1178HP409980

I ran this VIN# thru my claims database at work and it came back as unable to match the VIN#. Are you sure you copied it down right? usually the database will at least come up with a shipping date from the factory even if there are no accidents.

Turboscott, thanks for the check on the VIN.

I didn't copy the number - someone read it to me over the phone.
That could account for the difference.

The only thing that I can see that may change is the 9th digit - they call it the check digit. The VIN I identified has an "8". Perhaps it should be a "0".

Therefore the VIN would be 1G4GM1170HP409980.

If you could check again, I would appreciate it.

Tried to run carfax on 1G4GM1170HP409980 says invalid vin # so it still is not correct
