Dale, What are you looking to do? Maybe upgrade to the Sanden compressor? A factory AC setup fits and works so I'm curious what's up your sleeve

We did an install on a 1981 Trans Am while installing an '87 GN drivetrain.
Best thing about it was no vacuum is required, controls are electric.
A custom bracket was needed for the compressor, shock one would not work, so we fabricated one.

Greg Kring installed one on his GN when he put the stage 2 in. I think he's still on the site. Maybe he'll post up.

Thats one of the questions i was wondering about. The systems i've seen are very compact and would give tons of space on passenger side engine compartment. I saw an article for the hotrod air on a monte, with a v8 and it looked pretty good. he did fab a custom blockoff plate/housing to replace factory unit, he used a universal hotrod air kit if i remeber correctly.

Should not be a problem if you have someone local that can do hose mods.

I was thinking of using the aeroquip hose ends and assemble them myself..... I dont see why I couldnt do it?

Well, I have seen AC pressure approaching 500 PSI, so I would not want to be working on your system unless you have experience building and testing high pressure hoses.
Some things you leave to the experts, especially when personal safety is involved.
The hose kit on the Trans Am were fitted and assembled be a local shop, I do not have that expertise or equipment.
Found this on hotrod air site tonight, beginning to look very promising, gonna give them a call on pricing of a kit without compressor. i'll post findings for those that may be interested.

The pic I put up in post #9 shows the compressor brackets from Vintage Air that we used and modified them and they were mounted to the 1987 GN accessory bracket.
