That little two wire box on the cruise how do you have the wires hooked up?

This unit i purchase was from Summit, the three wire are bl/ rd and white, bl ground red was power and white was for pin A10 brown wire for ECM. here's a few more pics. do i need the little green buffer box and wire this unit to it?

Sounds like you hooked it up correctly not sure why it is not working.

No, with three wires that is a Hall Effect sender. It should work as wired, since it doesn't it is likely bad. Hopefully it has the square drive piece, if the cruise works it does. Did this set up ever work?

Since the car doesn't have an ALDL connector I doubt it ever had an ECM. In this case it is missing the optical pickup. There wasn't a need for it.

I'll post the speedometer and buffer box pictures in a couple of minutes. If the opening on yours is there then I'd mount the stock buffer box and go with it.

The black plastic piece is the optical pickup which is mounted to the back of the speedometer head via the small screw. The snout is what goes into the back of the cluster.

The guy who wired the car a few years ago cut the wiring fuse box out and put a 87 G/N one in and cut the cruise control off so it don't work.
