Walbro 340

I recently installed a walbro 340 and would like to know if it is common to hear the fuel pump running. I was running an open dump when I installed it so I never heard the pump. I recent installed a new exhaust and now I can hear the pump running. Is this normal or should I pull the pump and check it out.

Putting it another way, abnormal not to hear it running...

Thanks for the info...never heard the stock pump but that would also explain the fuel pressure problems I was having.

Actually most stock GM pumps that I've heard are louder than BOTH of my 340 pumps together!
