So I FINALLY decided to put in the pump. Got it in, put on new sock pointed to passenger side, level with bottom of tank etc etc. I ran out of time to install my Racetronix plug n play hotwire style harness. I set my FP to 43psi no vac line. WEll If I get into the car nice and easy and boost it up I get 2 green light son the Caspers guage. If I hammer it I immedialtley get ALL red faster than I can count them. Is this because I didnt put the harness in or did I maybe do something wrong????? I dont know what I could have done wrong, I cant see the sock collapsing, I put it in the right place, took out the pulser thing and added the fuel line in its place.
 
do you have a fuel press. gauge you can see if it has enough fuel press.
 
You say new sock is pump used ?

Things to check
Hose from pump to hanger use fuel injector hose only.
Hose clamped tight on both ends?
Fuel pres reg hose connected ?
Chip

Hotwire kit isn't necessary it helps.

I have a rail mounted FP gauge, its reading 38PSI and 443 no vac line. The hose from hangar came with the kit from Racetronix, yep I tightened the clamps on both ends and all the parts are new.
 
You need a scan tool. It's hard to diagnos the problem with no more info than we have. It may be too rich, that can cause knock, it may be too lean, that can cause knock. But without somemore data, hard to pin down. A fuel pressure reading under boost would help, too, but if scan data shows engine NOt to be lean, then the fuel pressure would be Ok.
 
Change the fuel filter even if its been done recently, lots of dirt and crap gets diturbed when ya do the pump. Can clog a fuel filter pretty quick. Good luck
 
You need to see what the fuel pressure is doing under BOOST to determine if it is a volume related problem.
 
Make sure you didn't pinch the fuel line when raising the tank back into place.

I drooped th etank again tonight, I found a piece of metal, a ring inside the rubber fuel line. I think I test fit the line on the old pulser and when I pulled the line off that ring stayed in there. I out everythign back together again and took it for a drive. Same problem. Wel, the first time I did this when I was done I put gas in it from a place very near to where I did the job since it was near bone dry. Maybe the problem is the gas I put in it. I have 1/4 tank left now so I'll see what happens with different gas. I am going to get a fuel pressure tester with a longer hose Monday and see what it reads under boost.

That ring is the nipple on the end of the fuel pump's outlet which keeps the checkvalve in the pump. Now the check valve is probably lodged somewhere in your metal lines :confused:

I see Racetronix has responded to your dilemma. You must have a scanner available, what are the o2 sensor readings when under load at heavy throttle? Sounds serious about the check valve retaining ring, how is it possible for that to become separated? Walbro pumps are supposed to be high performance AND long lived. Before going crazy, just LISTEN to the flow thru the rail;you should hear it hissing away bigtime, ample evidence of good fuel delivery. My stock pump only put out a whisper on KOEO.

The ring you are talking about does it happen to be rather thin, round, and like a pie cut into with 3 parts. Is it IN the center of th eoutlet side just above the valve? The piece I found was BIGGER than the outlet side of the pump, I set it there thinking it went there but it doesnt stay because it is too big. Also, it was a solid round ring with a hole in the center about 1/2 the size of the rubber line.
