want a lq4 motor

I have stage 2 stuff and want to go to the lq4 setup. I will trade stage 2 block for it or gn1 cnc race ported heads for complete setup with computer. I have a pretty complete stage 2 minus crank rod and balancer roller setup. Has run 9.97 @138

A LQ4 motor is a GM 6.0L ls1 style motor but has an iron block. The are found in the tahoe and pickup trucks.The comp ratio is 9.4 and with my setup will make tons of power and torque @ 10lbs boost and run pump gas.

gn1 heads are not stage 2 heads they are used on the 109 blocks but some have the 14 head bolt setup that will work well into the 9's on a stage motor and take advantage of the stage 2 14 head bolt that they come with.

Damn !! I sold an LQ4 about 2 years ago for 500.00 bucks!!! I guess I should have hung onto it a little longer. You should check out some of the F-body forums, or the LS1 forums. Good luck with your search.

i got a good rebuildable 6.0 shortblock from a 01 chevy truck. dish pistons. needs bearings.. got a good set of 243 casting zo6 heads also.. valves need to lapped back in.. it's in ky and it's for sale... neg. if interested. :smile:

Local boneyards sell them for $900-1000 here in KY, with everything.

Not sure if it's true but what I heard from a friend who just put one in his 69 pickup. Go to a local dealer. Anytime they do an engine swap on one, the owner either gives up the motor or pays a $400 core charge. $400 for a motor pulled by the dealer, sounds like a good deal to me, even if it needs a rebuild. Might be worth checking out anyway.
