factory unit finally stopped working , want to know if i can install a new style factory cd player in a gn. I would like to know if one out of a camaro would work, do you have to do any mods. or will it just plug in and work, how about brackets , custom or factory,like to still have a somewhat factory look but have a cd player too... tell me whats in your car , and pics if you got any.

ooh.. nothing that will fit in there and remain stock that i know of. the camaro's used an entirely different method for mounting and the trim panel is nothing at all like a g-body's.. best bet would be to try using a factory style 2 knob with a cd changer.. i know kenwood used to make one, not sure if they still do though. although you could get another factory radio and add an rf modulated changer to it, but then you wuold have a wired remote mounted in the car somewhere or hanging loose.. which you may or may not mind

The Monsoon system from late model F-bod's will work without a lot of hassle. Try doing a search in this forum for "Monsoon" or "Late Model Radio"
