One of the musclecar magazines is doing a side by side comparison of the GNX and the TTA. They will be taking photos of my friend's GNX in Warwick NY at 2pm on October 12th. If you can be there with your mint, original TTA it will be used for the article, but you'll need to email me asap. Epitome@direcway.com

Must be Hemmings Muscle Machines, they love comparisons. My car (1987 WE4) was photographed by Hemmings about a year and a half ago and they are planning a turbo issue early next year. My car should be in that issue (Feb 2006). Let me know if I'm right.

My TTA was in High Performace Pontiac in February (actually, previous owner feature), but it's not stock. And I'm in Texas. :frown:

Who are you dealing with over there? Jeff Koch is a good photographer and an excellent journalist. He was very easy going and a total pleasure to work with. Jeff asked me a few months ago if I knew of anyone who owned a TTA. I've sent several cars his way, I recommended several cars, 4 cars were photographed and all will or have appeared in the magazine. With the GNX and TTA comparison, looks like I won't get the cover, I'm just thankful my car was chosen. I have the guys at the GNregistry to thank for my photoshoot....They are the one's that recommended my car. The nicest I sent his way was a 1960 convertable Impala with 33k original miles, he was absolutely pleased with the car as well as the owners. How did you get selected for a photoshoot, was your car recommended? Did you know someone. The magazine was new, when my car was selected to be photographed, I think I purchased issue #5 the day I found out my car was selected. The issue with the GN/GNX buyer's guide.

Congrats on your shoot, I've been waiting 1.5 years for my car to appear, I hope its a good write up.

I've got a nice grey T you could use for a little contrast...

It's not my car, it's my friend's. I just told him I would post here thinking I would get a response right away....especially since we are in the northern NJ/NYC area.

Hemmings has been looking for a nice TTA to shoot for a long time. Sounds like they are looking for one in your area. They were looking for a nice one in Ca not long ago. My photo shoot went pretty well, although it was shot in the rain. The cloud cover was perfect for photographing a black car. The photographer took at least 188 photos, all very nice. Keep us posted.

Already alerted Jim about this but he says he has to work! Man, I would sure call out if I could get my car featured in a magazine. :frown: Says that the guy that covers for him has already claimed the day off. I would have to make some sort of deal with that guy to work.

I just emailed Jim, he is 2 hours or less away and he has the spot as long as he can make it :)

Just make sure they don't see your "incorrect" intercooler tag.

Keep us posted and let us know how it all turns out. Hope you guys continue to have good weather. Those guys at Hemming are great to work with....good luck.

Thanks acoen! Looks like we are on. Thanks to Frank for the trailer hook up! There is a rain date just in case and from what I gather this should show up in Hemmings around the February 06 issue!

Don't worry Mark I'll point out that IC tag! ;)

** update **

Well the shoot is tomorrow afternoon! After many rain delays and schedule changes it's finally on! I'm sure I won't sleep a wink tonight! Leaving early in the morning with FlyinGN and little FlyinGN as my co pilots! :) It's going to be my TTA, a GNX (with some tasteful mods), and a turbo T-bird. I guess Hemmings is going to do the turbo cars of the 80's  Either way I'm just happy to be part of it. I'll let you guys know how it went and when to rush to the newstands to buy it! I see the current Hemmings Muscle Machines has a article on the GN and the prices of them climbing the ladder. Where going to try and push to be on the cover! :)
