I'm working with an ex SWI guy and he was wondering who the GN fan was.

Hey there living in Columbus, IN and asking about SWRI. I bet I know where you work;)

I work in Melrose Park and know a thing or two about making smoke and hot water.

Hello Steve...if we could just get somebody from Peoria on the line we'd be hitting on all 6!!

Things going well for Intl?? I'm in HD Engineering Group...12-15L ISM & ISX. '07 was forecast to be a down year with the '06 pre-buy, but with CAT not being able to sell anything for the first few months and overall reliability/durability of our engines we had a tremendous year...nearly tripled our forecasted yearly profit. Rest of the company did very well too.

'08 will be a great year...I retire at end of Aug!!

Think CAT will stay in the on highway truck engine business?? Their ACERT is a disaster...doesn't seem to make sense for them to stay in the ever more difficult emissions driven business. Seems they would be smart to abandon the automotive emissions requirements and concentrate on off-highway...which is their core business anyway.

Hi Bob,
That's cool man. Int'l has been doing well enough so far... at least that's what they tell us (no financial reports for a long while now - delisted from the NYSE!). Regardless, the little DT466 is as strong as it ever was.

Most recently I've been working on the new 11-13L Int'l big bores doing mechanical development and vehicle integration work. I drove an ISX 450 rating in a ProStar earlier this summer out in Denver and thought is was a beast. The engine brake on that thing is awesome.

I've been talking with Cummins Filtration lately about working for them, the only thing holding me back from making the move right now is the lousy condition of the housing market around here.

I hope CAT does get out of the on-highway segment. I've had to work with those guys several times over the years and can't say there's much love to go around.

John Deer is on the move... I've heard they have been testing on-highway engines the past few years.

Do you know Gary Johansen? Tell him Dickerson says Hi.

I am very proud of the ISX Brake. Back in '98, when we were 6 months from ISX production date, I got called into the "office" and was told to drop everything I was doing and concentrate solely on ISX brake development....it was lasting minutes...had numurous issues. I had never worked with brakes before. About 2 days later I was in CT at Jacobs working on design changes....multiple design changes! Lots of multiple design changes!!

We got the brake to a pretty good state by production and then later I volunteered for a project to increase it's power. Got about 50 more braking Hp out of it and much more repeatability at the same time. Not much has been done to it since. VG turbo helps a lot too.

Gary came here from Intl to lead a new engine project. Can't talk much about it...but he has moved upstream from that project to lead an even wider scope...don't know if it was a promotion but certainly more responsibility. Don't know him well but he is very personable and speaks well.
I'll tell him you said hello.

We are looking for people....lots of them.

Maybe we should talk on the phone...wanna call me sometime??
