Wastegate Size

I purchased one of TA's 3 1/2 inch externally gated downpipes, this pipe is set up for flange mount wastegates. I had planned on a 44mm wastegate but it looks like Tial doesn't manufacture the F44 any more, only the F38mm.

The motor is a fairly stout 272" TA motor with a PTE70 HPQ. Would a 38mm be too small ? Or should I consider something else.

In my opinion a 38 is way too small, I went with a Turbonetics racegate. Turbonetics has a 45 mm you might check out. Call Jack Cotton, the link is in my signature.
