wastegate

i am having a problem with my wastegate and the unit that sits on the valvecover ...the unit has two vacum lines exits and i have only one line coming from it and it gos to the wastegate..is something wrong with that???please help.. or email at goheadandoit@aol.com

The wastegate solenoid on the valve cover has one "pipe" for the line that goes to the wastegate actuator diaphram. The other "pipe" should be covered with a little rectangular foam filter. If it is old, the filter may have degraded and fallen off. It is just there to vent vacuum.

What is your wastegate problem??

snot sure but it seems that the car stops getting boost when you press the gas, and it vibrates badly , and it dont like to change gears untill you let go of the gas. but for the wastegate solenoid i think it doesnt work, i have a new wastegate on order too.,

snot sure the wastegate is your problem

You should look into that bad vibration first, a poorly running
or misfiring engine aint gonna build no boost

sarvis, you have to post some details about what it's actually doing and when. Vibration and no shifting aren't the symptoms of a waste gate problem!

ok thank u ..i think that becuz of the wastegate dont work all the boost comes out...that means that the car is runing on motor only..could that be why the car vibrates.,, and the car seem to floods it self out...

Uhhh, no...
The cars gonna vibrate when your only hittin on 5 cylinders though. Forget about the wastegate for now cuz it aint gonna
cause no vibrations or floods.
How are your spark plugs and ignition wires?
From here it sounds like your misfiring, engines gonna be
shakin and smellin like raw fuel and runnin like its got no
power. How many miles on your car? What kinda stuff you
got done to the car?
You gotta make sure the engine is burnin gas on all 6 cylinders
before you go lookin at any boost problems

it was running on all 6 but now that you say that i will check that too., for the boost problem i was lookin at that becuz a while back i and something stuck in the turbo and i was not spinning at all but the car ran ..just had no power and vibrated badly...that is why i looked at that first...but thank you for your help. i hope it keeps on coming....
