While I was at ATCO last night, I saw come VERY fast imports run (damn I hate to say that! :( ) and thought I'd pass the word on to you guys. If you come across some of these guys on the street, DO NOT let your guard down. Give them all or nothing... we can't afford to let them get the win and go around talking smack about how they beat GN's with their rice...

1) New Mitsubishi EVO (Silver) - 11.80 @ 118mph!!!
I took a look at it and saw a much larger frontmount IC, and a 50hp Zex nitrous kit (owner told me). I suspect there was a larger turbo as well. The owner said that they had found the limits of the stock clutch as it had started to slip. No seats, just the drivers. It had street tires.

1) New Mitsubishi EVO (Red) - 12.34 @ 118mph!!!
Smaller frontmount (maybe stock?), didn't see nitrous but since it is running same MPH as above maybe it was hidden? This guy launched MUCH softer than the car above. It had street tires as well.

3) New Mitsubishi EVO (Red) - 12.76 @ 106mph!!!
I didn't get a look under the hood of this car. It had full interior & NJ tags. Street tires.

4) Audi S4 twin turbo (Silver) - 12.50's (don't remember mph)!
No comments other than it was a pretty sweet looking car. Functional cowl hood, lowered, looked like 18" wheels & street tires.

All of these cars are AWD and I suspect could be one hell of a challenge on the street. Watch out.

theres a fast wrx thats local around here

ive heard of a couple people geting beat by him

a friend of mines did 11.9x in his S4 here in Hawaii. I havent seen any Evo's or WRX's doing 12s yet...im sure they're not that far behind. Or that they've already done 12s and 11s...I'm just not there to see it or dont pay attention to it. Their launches are sick! 1.8-1.7 60' launches on street tires? they get a lot of respect. I wouldn mind getting into a tangle with them at a stop light...on a roll? forget about it.

Considering most GN guys are running 15psi on the street its going to be like bringing lambs to the slaughter.

I think I have seen 1 GN in the 12s at my local track this year. All the rest in the 14s and 15s. Its embarassing to see them getting beat by everything. :(

Banning,
Did the red one have a sticker along the top of the windshield with red lettering?

Monday night at the local scene, a red Evo beat up on my buddy's 13.4 LT1 F-body pretty badly. The Evo dead hooked and put 2-3 cars on the LT1 within the first 100-150 feet.

I'm racing my '87 T at the local track tonight (Moroso) so I'll see if I can hang with them, but NO 15lbs of boost on pump gas for me...... VP C16, 22-24lbs of boost, RA108 chip with 26* of timing, but it will be on street tires (I wanted to get some BFG DRs but didn't have enough time).... Should be in the 12's which is usually enough to take or hang with most of the street driven imports down here....

The real deal........for $34 large!

Banning, this is the silver car that you saw. Dan Cokic, the owner of the shop has a really stout Eclipse that runs quite often at E-Town. Dan's car is the black one on the main site page. He brought it to the track with the temp tags still on it and ran the 12.59. http://www.pruvenperformance.com/

Hey man, is your local track NED? Both times I've gone I've only seen one other GN. First guy was about my speed (mid 13s with crappy 'street-night' track prep yielding some 2.2x 60's) Second time was a dude new to TRs with NH plates. He had a TA-60 and some other mods. He said he was a rookie so I don't know what he ran, but I'm sure it was 12 capable. I'll be down there too, and I don't plan on runnin' no 14s or 15s! :p

I'll let you know when I roll, hopefully we can meet up sometime.

I'm anxious to see some of those AWD imports down there, I definitely have respect for ALL turbo cars.

Come on now! ET's are OK for them, at the track. But they have no big MPH. That's where it's at on the street. Unless you are running a stock TR you might have something to worry about. 11's are respectable though, don't get me wrong, but what is the price of these cars new? And then the upgrades? Put in perspective, if you had as much $$$ in your TR as these kids do, or their parents in most cases  , I hope you could put your car in some low 10's or single digits for that matter.

No matter which way you look at it, or how fast it is, IT'S STILL RICE!!!!!!!!!!:p

I'm putting a dime in a jar. I'd like to see how much I end up with if I put one in there every time I hear that argument.

that red evo you saw is part of a racing group called Alpha racing up in north jersey they are all imports and that is the slowest one. he just bought it not too long ago im sure it will be in the low 11's soon. they have anything from 10 second civics to 11 second solaras with supra motors in them. if you are from the NJ area and see an alpha car or anything with a frount mount beware they are very fast cars and they will suprise you if you if you are not ready. hell my buddies VW Golf just went 10.5 at 138 without nitrous so far. i have to give imports around NJ some credit i have seen many fast ones.

No doubt you gotta pay to play, but I've got around 10K in my 87 T so far, car and all the other goodies that I just put on it to get me some low 11's in race tune. I'm not making an arguement so much as a point of who is smarter to go faster with less money....not to mention the TR's can seat 4 adults very comfortably, alot of room in the trunk for the coolers of beer...you know it's all in what you want, my personal preference is the TR. I give props to anybody that takes a car and tunes, tweeks, upgrades to make faster. Whatever floats your boat...
