ok, i left my gn in the sun with rain water, now water marks on the hood, roof, trunk, is there something that would get them out??

I would try a high quality "Hand Glaze" first. Like 3M. Then maybe wax it. But don`t use a wax that has a high quantity of carnuba. On black it will cause a haze and look like you had Blind Bob wax it for you. Of course wash everything before you do this.

First step is to wash the car in Dawn....next use a good clay bar, then follow up with high quality polish such as Zaino.

:D wash with dish soap (dawn), that removes all wax, buff (I use an orbital buffer) with meguiers fine cut, then buff with meguires glaze, finish with meguires carnuba or BEST = EAGLE ONE NANO WAX- liquid or spray. IMO :D

Good clay bar, swirl remover, quality polish, then followed with a quality wax.

i like the mequires cleaner wax it takes water spots off and waxes same time.

That was the ammended version...

BTW...with a polish like Zaino...you dont need to use a swirl remover as it fills in the fine scratches..

In case you havent noticed, everybody has their own methods for making their car look good...

Dawn does strip wax. a clay bar will work as it gets tiny particles out of the pores of the clear coat. The polish will get rid of the tiny marks the clay bar will leave plus shine it up. Wax protects and seals in the polish.
Brands and methods are where people are going to argue until they turn purple.

water marks

i have tryed it all, left the car in the hot sun with rain, then dryed and rain again, going for the clay bar, many thanks for all the methods.

Need a buffer and some sort of polish or swirl remover. I've had a lot of success with the 3M Swirl Remover for watermarks also have used the Pinnacle XMT Series Polishes and Swirl Removers those are numbered in order of abrasiveness for ease of use. Hope it helps. For lots of info on paint care and high quality products check out the forum at We Are Car Care ! Car Wax - Car Polish - Auto Detailing Supplies & Car Accessories

tryed the clay, it helped but they are still there, i tryed buffing with mcguires polish/cleaner( no good), still looking for something????

If you have a buffer, and by buffer I dont mean one of those garbage orbitals you can buy at AutoZone, but a real professional buffer... You can use some FINE cut or ULTRA FINE cut rubbing compound and I guarantee it will come out, but you must be careful with it and know what you are doing.
Keep moving, dont burn the clear.

I agree. I would do a 2 or 3 stage buff starting with compound on wool pad and moving to machine glaze with foam pads. You need to know what you are doing or you can do serious damage. Go to this site: Welcome To Autobodystore.com
They have a great forum were you can get advise from experenced auto body and detail professionals.

Water spots are often "baked" on calcium deposits from the rain. Diluted vinegar wil dissolve the deposits . As others have mentioned, a clay bar and/or polish will also remove them.

I forgot about that trick:smile:
I also have good luck with 3m Finesse It 2. Using a foam pad and low speed buffer.
