Water pump leak

Leaking from the 6 o'clock weep hole, I already have it out, and plan to replace but I thought I was coming from the snout .... is that weap hole so the leaking coolant doesn't wash out the bearing?

the weep is there so you know its done before it takes out the bearing causing other damage

Those pictures are exactly how I pictured it, cool thanks for the educating!

All the mounting bolts were wet sealed, is that necessary if a good surface cleaning is done?

gasket will work dry , i like to glue it to the waterpump
all long bolts into block get thread sealer because they are into the coolant passage and under pressure ( teflon )
all other short bolts are steel into aluminum so use anti-seize on those or thread sealant which will do the same thing
