Are the water pumps for an 87-T still available from local auto parts or from vendors only? Is this usually the part that goes bad or the whole motor? Windshield wipers work but no water.

oh, thought you meant the water (Coolant) pump for a while, but I believe that the washer fluid motor should still be available at a parts store. Replaced the one in the Iroc about a year ago, GM couldn't have had that many different designs for a washer pump, (Could they:confused: )

winshield washer pump

Having just gone through this...

When you push the tab on the TS stalk for the washer, can you hear the pump whirring? If so, it's not the pump, it's something in the plumbing plugged up. I went through the process of replacing the pump only to find out the w/w fluid had crystallized on the pickup in the resevior and plugged it. Cleaned it out and voila' - worked like a charm!

Of course I now have a perfectly good used pump in the parts stash...

Hope this helps,
