Most of the muscle car shows don't allow anything newer than '72, plus the fact that we have V6's. In the immortal words of Rodney Dangerfield "We don't get no respect".

yeah theres this notion espoused by pop culture that the only cars that are worth a damn have round headlights.

This is why american iron is losing more and more of the sports car market. You pick up a hotrod, a car craft, any magazine out there on the shelf and you rarely rarely rarely see a car that doesnt have round headlights (meaning old cars) given any kind of coverage and respect. I was around lots of street racing in my teens and the whole car culture and I never knew anyone with any of the cars usually in these magazines. I never knew anyone with a 69 camaro, a shoebox chevy, anything like that. All i saw were fox/sn95 mustangs, 3rd/4th gen f bodies, turbo regals, 80s malibus, ford lightnings, and the occassional turbo mopar

ugh i could go on and on, ive thought about writing a letter to hot rod or whatever and telling them that to your average car guy a 69 camaro or shoebox chevy is a museum peice and that their magazine is catering to old dudes thus ensuring their demise.

The average 16 year old kid looking to get into this hobby pics up a hot rod and sees these old cars hes never actually seen on the street before or he can pick up a super street and see his neighbors daily driver civic that is for sale at a price he can afford, whats he gonna end up with?
