My Dewalt 40 volt cordless stopped working so I took it apart to find out why.

Even the throttle switch has a circuit board.

Now it is in pieces and trying to figure how to put it back together.

Almost had the same issue with my scammaster today, needed a couple of solder touchups so the buttons and display would work properly without me banging on it.

It really isn't that complicated but I did it without disconnecting it in any way.

Here's a quicky solution for ya. :p

If they were not poop machines, they would be a good answer.

I found that it was one of the two circuit boards. It might be able to be fixed but I bought an open box (on discount) that was easier and cheaper.

I'm still using my 12 volt Milwaukee NiCad battery drill from 1985 or so. o_O

Weighs about 15 pounds though, some day I may buy a keyless chuck for it...;):p

Good luck with the new one.

The 40 volt Dewalt was only 2 years old that gave up.

They don’t build them like they use to.
