weird noise only in gear

so yesterday when i cam from from a couple shows as i pulled up in my driveway i heard this ticking noise.
i put in park and it went away.
so when i put into any gear even reverse it makes this loud ticking like a solid lifter camshaft. i doublechcked my exhaust and cannot locate any exhaust leaks.

it seems to be right around the converter area. i spinned the tc around and all bolts are good and no visable signs of a cracked flexplate

I've heard loose stator supports make that kind off noise. Chucking back and forth. Has the trans been out?? Phil.

I was told when I bought that only a shift kit was in it. But I couldnt tell
As far as I know it's stock but with a ptc 10" and an engine with maybe 3000 miles on it

sounds like a cracked flexplate.Try to look up around where it bolts to the crank for cracks.
